Are Josh Allen, Bills Still Super Bowl Contenders? Fans Sound Off After Loss to Texans
The Buffalo Bills dropped to 7-4 after falling short of a comeback against the Houston Texans on Thursday.
The Bills trailed by a touchdown entering the fourth quarter and cut the lead to four after a field goal around the five-minute mark. After getting the stop they needed on the defensive side, they got the ball back with just over two minutes to play.
Buffalo had some momentum early on in its final drive and got near the red zone after a beautifully executed play on fourth-and-27. Josh Allen threw an interception on fourth-and-1, giving the Texans the ball back to run the clock down on their way to a win.
The story for Buffalo in the loss was a lack of protection for Allen, who took a career-high eight sacks and threw a pair of interceptions.
The Bills have looked like Super Bowl contenders at times this year, like during their win over the Kansas City Chiefs a few weeks ago and a victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, but they've left much to be desired.
After losing on Thursday, fans questioned whether Buffalo is championship material.
The Bills are now the sixth seed in the AFC following the loss. There's still plenty of season left for them to improve their standing and build some momentum, but it's clear they have some work to do if they want to finally get over the hump of reaching the Super Bowl this year.
