Dak Prescott Injury, Latest on Cowboys Star's Hand and Status After Win vs. Texans

Dallas Cowboys star quarterback Dak Prescott was seen with his right hand wrapped after Sunday's 34-30 win over the Houston Texans.

Prescott went 32-of-45 for 335 yards and a touchdown. He also led the team on a 74-yard drive to win the game in the final minute.

Dallas improved to 2-2 with the win.

Prescott didn't play in the 2026 preseason as the Cowboys prepared for their second year under head coach Brian Schottenheimer. Joe Milton III saw the bulk of the action and impressed with three touchdown passes and a rushing score in two games.

Despite the Cowboys' inconsistencies in 2025, Prescott was one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, throwing for 4,552 yards, 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. In 2024, he was limited to eight games due to a season-ending hamstring injury, and the 33-year-old was clearly motivated to bounce back in a big way.

However, Dallas failed to turn the corner and missed the playoffs for the second straight year, finishing with a 7-9-1 record in its first season under Schottenheimer.

If Prescott is sidelined at any point, the Cowboys would be forced to turn to backup Sam Howell.
