Jets head coach Aaron Glenn told reporters Wednesday, "That's what eases my mind, is that he's in good spirits. His wife and his kid, they're in good spirits and he will walk away from this just fine."
New York signed the Texas product this offseason, but he suffered a shoulder injury that required surgery during training camp in August.
He was placed on the season-ending injured reserve list and will not appear in a game during the 2025 campaign.
Boyd entered the league as a seventh-round draft pick in 2019 and has played for the Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans throughout his career.
