Shedeur Sanders Opens Up on Home Burglary Caught on Video, $200K in Stolen Property

For the first time since his home was burglarized on Sunday, Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders spoke publicly about the incident on Wednesday.

Sanders opted for a positive outlook, telling reporters, "Mentally and emotionally, I'm in a great place overall. In life there's always gonna be adversity and things aren't always gonna go as planned, but I would say I'm prepared for anything."

The rookie fifth-round pick continued by telling reporters that none of his jewelry was stolen during the burglary.

On Tuesday, the Medina County Sheriff's Office released a statement, announcing that three suspects were caught on surveillance cameras entering and burglarizing Sanders' home on Sunday.

It was noted that an estimated $200,000 worth of property was stolen during the burglary.

The burglary occurred during the Browns' 23-16 home loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, which just so happened to feature Sanders seeing the first regular-season game action of his career.

After starter Dillon Gabriel was ruled out for the remainder of the game at halftime due to entering concussion protocol, Sanders took over and played the rest of the contest.

The son of Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback and University of Colorado head football coach Deion Sanders mostly struggled, going just 4-of-16 for 47 yards, no touchdowns and one interception, while also taking two sacks.

Cleveland did not score any points while Sanders was in the game, and it squandered a 16-10 halftime lead.

Still, there is hope for Sanders to establish himself as a legitimate NFL quarterback following his highly successful collegiate career at Colorado.

In his final college season, Sanders was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, finished eighth in Heisman Trophy voting and played a major role in his Buffaloes teammate, Travis Hunter, winning the Heisman.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters Wednesday that Sanders will start Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders.

That will mark Sanders' first NFL regular-season start, and it will likely come on the heels of getting a full allotment of snaps with the first-team offense throughout the week.
