Tom Brady Breaks Down His 'Controversial' NFL Power Rankings in Video Ahead of Week 12

Scott PolacekNov 18, 2025

The College Football Playoff rankings aren't the only ones stirring up debate in November.

Tom Brady released what he called "my most controversial power rankings to date" on Tuesday, which notably includes the Philadelphia Eagles on top and the Kansas City Chiefs still on his list.

Here is a look at his top 10:

  1. Philadelphia Eagles
  2. Los Angeles Rams
  3. Denver Broncos
  4. New England Patriots
  5. Buffalo Bills
  6. Seattle Seahawks
  7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  8. Chicago Bears
  9. Green Bay Packers
  10. Kansas City Chiefs

The first thing that jumps out is the Chiefs.

After all, they fell to 5-5 with Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos and sit in ninth place in the AFC standings. They wouldn't even be in the playoffs if the season ended today, and they still have daunting matchups against the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos remaining.

But it is still impossible to ignore their pedigree.

"Now listen, if you're going to comment about the Chiefs being in the top 10, I want you to do something real quick," Brady said. "Close your eyes, visualize. It's January, it's cold out. And Patrick Mahomes has the ball with five minutes left. How do you think that story is going to end?"

That story usually ends in triumph for Mahomes and Co., as the Chiefs have been to five of the last six Super Bowls and each of the last three. They also have three Lombardi Trophies during that span as a modern-day dynasty.

Few people in NFL history would understand what it is like to quarterback a dynasty better than Brady, and he still believes in Kansas City even if many fans around the league would surely love to see the AFC West team fail.

Elsewhere, the most notable omission is the Colts considering they are 8-2 and tied with the Broncos and New England Patriots for the fewest losses in the AFC.

But they will have an opportunity to prove Brady wrong with a road game against the Chiefs on Sunday.
