WWE NXT Results, Winners, Live Grades, Reaction and Highlights From Nov. 11

Chris Mueller

Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage of WWE NXT on November 11.

Here is a look at what WWE advertised for Tuesday's show:

  • El Grande Americano vs. Jasper Troy (Men's Speed Championship)
  • Tatum Paxley speaks
  • Josh Briggs vs. Tavion Heights
  • Ricky Saints vs. Trick Williams (Men's NXT Championship)

The bout between Saints and Williams for the men's NXT title was a Last Man Standing match, so NXT general manager Ava was hoping it would put an end to their feud once and for all.

Let's take a look at everything that happened on this week's NXT.

Tatum Paxley Wants to Be a Fighting Champion

1 of 7
NXT

The Culling kicked off NXT with Shawn Spears, Niko Vance and Izzi Dame accompanying Paxley to the ring for a promo. Vance and Spears stood back in the corner while Dame and Paxley grabbed mics.

The champ was all smiles as the crowd chanted her name and "You deserve it." Dame said The Culling just wants what's best for Paxley and encouraged her to stop handing out title shots to everyone who asks for one.

Paxley said she wants everyone to get an opportunity so nobody backstage feels like she did when she was grinding to get here. Fatal Influence showed up so Jacy Jayne could talk some trash.

Paxley agreed to give Jayne a rematch at NXT Gold Rush next week. This segment didn't overstay its welcome, but it still felt like it could have been handled quicker than it was. Paxley is great in her role, as is Dame, but the repetitiveness of this feud with Fatal Influence makes it hard to get invested.

Grade: C

Notable Moments and Observations

  • WWE not having John Cena or any member of the roster narrate the Veteran's Day video package was surprising.
  • Dame could be a great babyface if given the opportunity. She's great at working the crowd.

El Grande Americano vs. Jasper Troy

2 of 7
Monday Night RAW

Last time in action: Troy defeated Axiom (NXT, Oct. 28), Americano defeated Briggs (NXT, Nov. 4)

The Men's Speed Championship was on the line in a five-minute match with Americano defending the belt against Troy.

The powerhouse immediately put Grande in a corner and started beating on him. The crowd was in the masked man's corner, but the champion eventually made a comeback as the match entered its second minute

The Speed Championship was designed for matches on social media, so the time limits made sense, but as a TV concept, it never has enough time to produce a great performance.

Troy did his best, and Ludwig Kaiser is a great wrestler, whether he is under a mask or not, but that wasn't enough to make this stand out. We're not saying this was bad, and it actually had a couple of good spots, but WWE needs to rework this gimmick or scrap it.

The ref stopped Americano from using the metal plate in his mask and paved the way for Troy to hit the Black Hole Slam with just seconds to spare to win the title.

Result: Troy defeated Americano to win the Speed Championship

Grade: C

Notable Moments and Observations

  • A snippet of an interview with Cena was played before the match.
  • WWE reminds us that Troy won LFG's first season every chance it gets.

Thea Hail vs. Alba Fyre

3 of 7
WWE Archive

Last time in action: Thea Hail lost the Battle Royal (NXT, Oct. 7), The Green Regime lost to ZaRuca (SmackDown, Oct. 3)

Joe Hendry was at ringside to support Hail in her match against Fyre, who had Chelsea Green and Ethan Page in her corner.

The first couple of minutes were a competitive back-and-forth fight. Hail seemed to have the upper hand with a springboard back senton, but Fyre came back with a suicide dive to take her down as the show went to a break.

Hail had the match in hand when All Ego decided to get on the apron to provide a distraction. All hell broke loose and everyone started fighting at ringside. Hail was able to get the pin with a sunset flip during the chaos.

While the ending was a bit overbooked, this was a fun match that had the crowd making noise the whole time. Hail and Fyre brought good energy to the ring.

Result: Hail defeated Fyre

Grade: B-

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Henry and Hail make a fun duo. WWE was smart to pair them together.
  • Fyre's dive through the ropes looked great.

Skylar Raye vs. Fallon Henley

4 of 7
WWE Archive

Last time in action: Fatal Influence defeated The Culling and Lola Vice (NXT, Nov. 4)

Je'Von Evans came to the ring for a promo with Leon Slater on the screen since he is not able to be there in person, or so we thought. When DarkState showed up to attack, Slater arrived and helped Evans get one over on them.

Skylar Raye made her NXT debut following her win in LFG season 2. Her first opponent was Fallon Henley, and this was a speed tournament match with a three-minute time limit.

Henley tried playing the veteran and wanted to bully her opponent, but Raye kept her on her toes. They did their best to pack in as much as possible, but it didn't allow them to sell very much.

Some leeway can be given to the rookie, and some moves looked good, but this was short and had a few notable missteps. Henley won to advance in the tournament.

Result: Henley defeated Raye

Grade: C-

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Blake Monroe interviewed herself in a backstage segment. They shot it side by side and edited it pretty well to make it look like she was having a conversation with herself.
  • Raye tried a tornado DDT but it did not connect at all.

Tavion Heights vs. Josh Briggs

5 of 7
NXT

Last time in action: Heights lost to Myles Borne (NXT, Oct. 28), Americano defeated Briggs (NXT, Nov. 4)

Briggs and Heights were both fresh off losses in recent weeks, so both men were looking to add a win to their record when they met for a singles match this week.

As soon as the bell rang, both men ran at each other and Briggs nailed a huge boot to the face to get an immediate advantage. Heights struggled to recover and the big man stomped him into the mat.

The former NQCC standout began making a comeback during the picture-in-picture portion of the match. Both of these guys work a very physical style, so this was the most competitive performance of the night up to this point.

Heights managed to pull off the victory, but this was clearly not the end of this story. It wouldn't be surprising to see them have another match or two in the coming weeks.

Result: Heights defeated Briggs

Grade: B

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Lainey Reid made reference to chasing a title for herself during a backstage segment, but she didn't say what it was.
  • The boot from Briggs when the match started looked awesome.
  • Briggs has great explosivity for his size. Heights does, too.

Ricky Saints vs. Trick Williams

6 of 7
NXT...

Last time in action: Saints defeated Williams (Halloween Havoc)

This week's main event was the Last Man Standing match for the NXT men's title between Saints and the former champion, Williams.

Trick tried to use a kendo stick right away, but Saints managed to avoid his shots and and steal it from him so he could unload with it. The champ send his challenger out of the ring and started grabbing weapons from under the ring.

Once Williams had the upper hand, he tied Saints up in the ropes and hit him in his injured ribs with a kendo stick repeatedly.

They were given a lot of time to work but didn't go overboard on how many times they teased one of them not being able to answer the 10-count.

Despite being put through a wall, Saints was able to get the victory. As he was celebrating, Oba Femi showed up to end the show.

Result: Saints defeated Williams

Grade: B

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Reid already got herself a title shot for the Evolve Championship next week. That was fast.
  • Why would Williams use a chair to knock the chair Saints was holding out of his hands and then immediately get rid of the weapon?
  • It looked like a chop from Williams might have caught Saints in the mouth.

The Final Word

7 of 7
NXT No Mercy

Tuesday's NXT featured two title matches that didn't see any gold change hands, but the show did set up some interesting possibilities for the future.

Heights and Briggs put on a hard-fought contest, but nothing else on the show could stack up to the main event with Saints and Williams.

Not only did the match deliver some entertaining moments, but it led into Femi's return as he seemingly staked his claim as the next challenger for the title.

This week's show as a whole was nothing special, but it did set up some interesting possibilities for the future.
