What Happened in A.J. Brown, Eagles Owner's Meeting? Latest Rumors After Viral Video

Joseph ZuckerNov 16, 2025

Philadelphia Eagles receiver A.J. Brown and team owner Jeffrey Lurie cleared the air during their meeting on the practice field this week, according to ESPN's Sal Paolantonio.

"During the 10-minute meeting, Brown promised Lurie that he would stop his complaining on social media, according to the team official," Paolantonio reported Sunday. "But Brown also told Lurie that he just wants to be a part of the offense and is frustrated, the team official said."

The chat came days after Brown played some Madden NFL 26 with streamer Janky Rondo and offered some candid thoughts on this season. He suggested the year has been a "s--t show" and joked fantasy football managers should "get rid of me."

The three-time Pro Bowler is in the midst of his worst statistical season. His 51 receiving yards per game are on pace to be a career low, well behind the 65.7 yards he averaged as a rookie in 2019. His 7.6 yards per target are also tracking below his overall average (9.9), per Pro Football Reference.

Brown being unhappy with his on-field usage has been a steady theme in 2025. On Wednesday, he addressed the newest video. He told reporters his frustration stems from the performance of the Eagles offense as a whole, not just his own production:

Paolantonio reported Lurie didn't request an apology from Brown during their exchange, which lasted 10 minutes, and the pair hugged before the wideout resumed practicing.

Nobody can question the 28-year-old's commitment when he steps onto the field. He may not be delivering his usual numbers, but that's not through a lack of effort.

This has all nonetheless been a minor distraction for the Eagles. Head coach Nick Sirianni told reporters Wednesday he's "close to being done answering questions about this."

Thanks to Lurie's intervention, maybe everyone can move on for now.
