Watch Real Madrid's Epic Time Lapse Video Transforming Stadium for Historic NFL Game

Preparing Bernabéu Stadium for Sunday's game between the Miami Dolphins and Washington Commanders relied on quite the feat of engineering.

Real Madrid shared a time lapse video of the traditional soccer pitch being replaced, a process that utilizes a high-tech system of switching out different playing surfaces.

The club shared renderings of the system in 2021 as it renovated the legendary Bernabéu.

The total cost of updating the stadium was more than €1 billion, and it's easy to see why when so much was invested in simply managing the turf.

Now the question is, will the NFL return to Spain in the future?

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell gushed about the stadium and indicated the league would be back while speaking to reporters.

"We will be back, we are excited," Goodell told Spanish media. "This has been a great opportunity for us. We always wait until we get through the games, but we want to be back here in Madrid (and) Spain. I think this is a great market for us."
