Will Justin Fields Be Benched By Jets? Aaron Glenn Says He's 'Evaluating Everything'
New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn told reporters on Friday that he's "evaluating everything" after his team dropped to 2-8 following a 27-14 road loss to the New England Patriots the night before.
A reporter specifically asked whether he'd consider giving another start to backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor, who played after halftime of the Jets' 13-6 home loss to the Carolina Panthers on Oct. 19 in place of a benched Fields.

Glenn responded as follows (h/t NYJets.com contributor Jack Bell).
"I'm evaluating everything," Glenn said. "I'm evaluating myself, the players, schematics, coaches, I'm evaluating everything. So, I don't want to just place everything on that, that one situation [quarterback]. I'm just looking at everything, because as a head coach, that's my job, to make sure that I put this team in the best position to go win games."
Fields signed a two-year, $40 million contract with the Jets last offseason. Over nine starts, he's completed 62.7 percent of his passes for 1,259 yards (6.2 yards per attempt), seven touchdowns and one interception. He's also rushed for 383 yards and four more scores.
For the season, Fields ranks 21st in quarterback rating and 29th in QBR, per Pro Football Reference.
The Jets' passing offense hasn't fared well this year, with New York currently slotting 30th among 32 teams in net yards per pass attempt (4.5).
In fairness to Fields, he's been without Jets star wide receiver Garrett Wilson for three of his starts due to injury, and New York has had a rotating cast at the position this year. Of note, eight different wide receivers have caught passes through 10 games, and only one (Wilson) has had more than 11 receptions.
Ultimately, the pass game has been one problem amid multiple issues for a 2-8 Jets team. It's certainly not all on Fields, but it appears a change could at least be considered as New York advances through the season with an eye toward their next matchup on Sunday, Nov. 23 at the Baltimore Ravens.
