'Rise of the 49ers' Series on NFL Dynasty Teased in Trailer Video Featuring Tom Brady
The San Francisco 49ers' dynasty years are getting the docuseries treatment with Rise of the 49ers starting Feb. 1 on AMC, and the network dropped a new trailer for the limited series narrated by NFL legend Tom Brady on Thursday.
Brady, who was born in the San Francisco Bay Area and grew up rooting for the 49ers, will also be featured on-camera in each episode of the series.

AMC Networks initially released a teaser trailer for the series in November, featuring appearances from franchise icons Joe Montana, Steve Young and Jerry Rice.
Brady was also featured in the initial trailer.
The series features rare and never-before-seen footage from NFL Films about the 49ers' rise to prominence in the early-80s, their sustained success throughout the decade and into the 90s.
Montana, Young, Rice, Ronnie Lott and Eddie DeBartolo Jr. are among the franchise legends who were interviewed for the series. Hall of Fame head coach Bill Walsh, who died in 2007, will be featured through old footage, including speeches to the team, and archival photos.
The docuseries will also touch on the cultural changes in the Bay Area during that period, with the 49ers serving as a unifying element during their period of dominance.
After missing the playoffs in eight consecutive seasons from 1973 to 1980, the 49ers went on one of the most dominant runs of any team in NFL history starting in 1981. They won five Super Bowl titles in 14 seasons from 1981 to 1994, won at least 10 games in 16 consecutive seasons from 1983 to '98 and made the playoffs 15 times in 17 years from 1983 to 1998.
The only team with a longer streak of consecutive double-digit win seasons than the 49ers during that period is the New England Patriots, led by Brady, from 2003 to 2019 (17 seasons).
Rise of the 49ers premieres on Feb. 1 at 9 p.m. ET with back-to-back episodes on AMC. The final two episodes will debut on the network on Feb. 2 at 9 p.m. ET.
