
Drake Maye Makes NFL History, TreVeyon Henderson Scores 3 TDs as Patriots Beat Jets
Drake Maye and the New England Patriots extended their winning streak to eight games with a 27โ14 victory over the New York Jets on Thursday night.
Maye threw for 281 yards and one touchdown while completing 25-of-34 passes. Running back TreVeyon Henderson scored three touchdowns โ two rushing and one receiving โ and totaled 93 yards. Stefon Diggs added 105 receiving yards on nine catches.
Jets quarterback Justin Fields finished with 116 yards and two touchdowns, one through the air and one on the ground, while rushing for 67 yards and completing 15-of-26 passes.
With the home win, the Patriots improved to 8โ2 and strengthened their lead in the AFC East. The Jets fell to 2โ8, sitting at the bottom of the division.
Fans praised Maye and Henderson as they led the Patriots to their eighth straight win of the season.
Both teams scored on their opening possessions, but the Patriots found the end zone again before halftime to take a 14โ7 lead.
New England stayed in front entering the fourth quarter, as both teams added touchdowns on their final drives of the third, extending the Patriots' lead to 21โ14.
Two field goals in the fourth pushed the Patriots further ahead, and a forced Jets fumble sealed the momentum as New England cruised to a 27โ14 victory.
The Patriots will hit the road to face the Cincinnati Bengals next Sunday.
