Chelsea Transfer News: John Stones Pursuit Angers Everton, Mo Salah Rumours
Chelsea have angered Everton with their pursuit of defender John Stones.
According to David Anderson of the Mirror, the Toffees "are furious with Chelsea for waging what they feel is an underhand campaign to unsettle John Stones."
This includes Gary Cahill's recent comments, relayed by Darren Lewis of the Mirror: "In terms of ambition, if you're a young player in the game, have played in the Premier League like he did a lot last year, and a big club come calling, it's very difficult to turn down."
Anderson's report added that Everton have written to the Blues to reaffirm Stones is staying put, with Chelsea confirming that while they have received a letter, they do not believe it precludes them from making a deal.
However, Sky Sports reports Chelsea have not followed up with another offer following the dismissal of their first bid for Stones.

Further, manager Jose Mourinho said he was satisfied with the state of his squad ahead of the upcoming season.
He said: "You are speaking with the manager of the best team in England. We are a top team, we have top players. We don't need other players, we trust these players."
Stones is a highly rated prospect and started 23 Premier League games for the Toffees last season.
The 21-year-old's stats compare very favourably with Chelsea's John Terry and Cahill, per WhoScored.com:
Former Queens Park Rangers captain Joey Barton is a fan of Stones' talents and believes he has a big future ahead of him in English football:
While Cahill is accurate that moves to clubs of Chelsea's stature are difficult to turn down, as Anderson notes, the saga over Stones' possible move runs the risk of souring the relationship between the two clubs.
Though Mourinho may have claimed to be happy with his current squad, expect them to seek to bring in at least one more player before the transfer window shuts.
Chelsea's squad is an excellent one, having won the title with ease last year, but with their rivals all looking to improve, Mourinho will likely try to add more depth ahead of a long campaign in which they'll be expected to challenge on multiple fronts.
Roma Interested in Mohamed Salah
According John Cross of the Mirror, Mohamed Salah "has held negotiations with Roma" over a permanent move to the Giallorossi.
The Egypt international spent the second half of last season on loan with Fiorentina, scoring nine goals and creating a further four in 26 appearances for the Florentine club.
The versatile winger can also play in attacking midfield or up front but would surely find his options limited were he to remain at Chelsea, particularly as Mourinho admitted he has no plans to loan out Victor Moses:
A move to Roma would likely prove a positive move for all parties, and the prospect of regular football at a Champions League club will be a tempting one for the 23-year-old.
Expect Salah to be plying his trade away from Stamford Bridge next season. Neither Gervinho nor Juan Iturbe was particularly outstanding on the wing for Roma in Serie A last year, so there's plenty of scope for Salah to secure a starting berth at the Stadio Olimpico.
