Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
WWE Superstars Roman Reigns and CM Punk are reportedly set to lend their voice-acting skills to the upcoming Disney movie Zootopia 2.
On Wednesday, SI.com's John McMullen reported that the children of Paradigm talent agent Nick LoPiccolo told him Reigns and Punk will voice "zebra buddy cops" in the movie, which will hit theaters on Nov. 26:
LoPiccolo addressed the report in a subsequent post on, writing that his kids "scooped" him:
Punk is one of several WWE Superstars represented by LoPiccolo, making the agent a reliable source of information regarding his potential projects.
The first Zootopia movie was released to critical acclaim in 2016, and the sequel will feature many of the same characters and voice actors.
However, Reigns and Punk look to be among the major additions, along with another star who has deep WWE ties.
IMDB lists Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as part of the Zootopia 2 cast, voicing the character of Zeke.
The Rock is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most popular wrestlers of all time, and while he has gone on to enjoy immense success as an actor, he is still involved with WWE as part of the TKO board of directors.
On screen in WWE over the past year, Reigns and Punk have been both rivals and reluctant allies, which should add to the entertainment value of their buddy cop characters.
Reported Details on Trick Suffering Injury on NXT
Trick Williams got busted open during his Last Man Standing match for the NXT Championship against Ricky Saints on Tuesday night, but it reportedly wasn't part of the plan.
According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), Williams got cut when he went through a barricade and his head hit a metal beam.
Alvarez noted that the referee asked Williams if he was OK to continue, and Trick responded that he was, so he was able to finish the match.
Williams and Saints went all out in Tuesday's match, but Saints prevailed and retained the NXT title when Trick was barely unable to reach his feet before the count of 10.
After the match, Oba Femi made his way to the ring, signaling his intention to win back the NXT Championship that he dropped to Saints.
Williams was aiming to become a three-time NXT champion on Tuesday. Had he succeeded, he would have become only the second person to do so in NXT history, joining Samoa Joe.
Instead, the two-time NXT champ and former TNA world champion came out on the losing end, which calls his NXT future into question.
Trick has essentially done it all in NXT and there is little left to prove, so there will undoubtedly be plenty of speculation about him making the leap to WWE's main roster if and when he is healthy enough to do so.
Chavo Discusses WWE Role After Re-Signing
Chavo Guerrero gave an update this week on where he stands with WWE after appearing at Worlds Collide back in July.
Speaking to veteran pro wrestling journalist Bill Apter (h/t Felix Upton of Ringside News), Guerrero said he recently re-signed with WWE.
Guerrero continued by confirming that he has a behind-the-scenes role with WWE, particularly as it relates to helping put on AAA shows.
At WrestleMania 41 back in April, WWE announced that it had purchased popular Mexican wrestling promotion AAA.
Since then, WWE has delivered two WWE-AAA Worlds Collide shows, and WWE has also been responsible for presenting AAA shows in Mexico, including Triplemanía in August.
Guerrero, 55, is part of the famous Guerrero wrestling family, and he previously had a lengthy run in WWE as a wrestler from 2001 to 2011.
After departing WWE, Chavo spent time in TNA and Lucha Underground, and more recently he was in AEW from 2021 to 2022, primarily as a manager.
Now, Chavo is lending his expertise to WWE and AAA in a producer role, which seems like the perfect position for him given his long and successful in-ring career, and his familiarity with lucha libre.
