WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2025 Wild Twists, Surprise Returns, Match Predictions

Over the last several months, WWE Creative has become boring and stagnant, but the return of Survivor Series: WarGames gives the company a much-needed boost before the holidays kick into high gear.

With some of the biggest names in WWE already booked for the show on November 29, the stage has been set for the 2025 edition of WarGames to feature two of the deepest men's and women's multi-person matches in history.

Here are the shocking twists, surprise returns, and match predictions wrestling fans should expect at Survivor Series.

Shocking Twists

In the men's WarGames match, the biggest possible shock would be to have Brock Lesnar make his debut in the match type by taking the lead for the heel team, joining forces with Logan Paul, Bronson Reed, and Bron Breakker.

Adding Lesnar to the heel team opens several marquee storylines for the contest, including rekindling an old feud with CM Punk and revisiting one of WWE's most iconic rivalries with Roman Reigns.

Add in that The Beast Incarnate could just turn on everyone and leave the structure without caring about the finish, and how Survivor Series shakes out will be highly anticipated.

The best-case scenario would be to add Gunther as the fifth and final member of the heel team at WarGames, only for Lesnar and The Ring General to eventually come to blows, which would lead to a blockbuster singles match at WrestleMania 42.

Surprise Returns

In the women's WarGames match, the star power is already through the roof—arguably the deepest teams thus far—but one way to ensure the bout goes down in history would be to book the return of AJ Lee.

Following her previous return in September and her match at Wrestlepalooza, Lee can join forces with a face team that already includes Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, Alexa Bliss, and Charlotte Flair.

From a storyline perspective, Lee getting a spot in WarGames would be poetic justice, as she was one of the biggest stars during an era when women were not given the spotlight they deserved. After fighting for better opportunities for female wrestlers in WWE, it is fitting that she gets the chance to shine.

Lee's previous return was well-received, but getting to see the more violent tendencies of the former champion will excite the WWE Universe. It could also indicate more frequent appearances and even storylines involving Lee.

Match Predictions

Rey Mysterio vs. Dominik Mysterio

After losing his Intercontinental Championship to John Cena on Raw, Dominik Mysterio will likely turn his attention to his father, Rey Mysterio, in his quest to become the greatest luchador of all time.

The two men have battled in the past, but Rey's return has created genuine excitement for another chapter in the father-son rivalry. With a match of this magnitude deserving a marquee stage, Survivor Series in Rey's hometown of San Diego makes it the perfect destination for the chaos.

In addition to the deeply personal element between family members fighting and paying homage to the history and tradition of lucha libre, Dominik standing toe-to-toe with a bona fide legend like Rey and beating him would go a long way in cementing his legacy as a top star for WWE.

Add in the genuine fan interest in this potential collision, and Survivor Series is shaping up to be an all-time event.
