Packers Trolled by NFL Fans After Eagles Use 'Tush Push' amid Offseason Rule Debate

Scott PolacekNov 10, 2025

Of course it was coming.

But that doesn't mean the Green Bay Packers were going to stop it.

The Philadelphia Eagles ran a tush-push play to pick up a first down on their opening drive of Monday's game against the Packers:

While the Eagles are known for their ability to convert short-yardage situations by shoving quarterback Jalen Hurts in such a fashion, doing so against Green Bay was particularly notable.

After all, the NFC North team led the way in the efforts to outlaw the play this offseason.

Social media was quick to make note of it:

As ESPN's Rob Demovsky detailed, Green Bay sponsored a proposal this offseason that attempted to ban the play. The initial proposal was tabled before an eventual vote ended up with 22 teams voting in favor of the ban.

However, that was two short of the required 24 to make an actual change.

The tush push is still legal as a result, but it has faced renewed criticism this season as a play that is inconsistently officiated and frustrating for opposing defenses and fans.

Packers star Micah Parsons even weighed in during a Week 6 game between the Eagles and New York Giants:

He surely isn't going to change his mind after facing it in Monday's game.
