Cowboys to Honor Marshawn Kneeland with Helmet Decals Designed by Teammates, More

Dallas Cowboys players will honor teammate Marshawn Kneeland by designing helmet decals in remembrance of the defensive lineman who died Thursday at the age of 24.

ESPN's Todd Archer reported Monday that Dallas will wear helmet decals to honor him for the rest of the season with the final design to be decided on by the players. The team will also wear shirts that honor Kneeland ahead of their next two games against the Las Vegas Raiders and Philadelphia Eagles.

Archer noted the team is planning a moment of silence and a video tribute for the Nov. 23 game against Philadelphia, which will be the Cowboys' first home matchup since Kneeland's death.

While the Cowboys were on bye in Week 10, teams around the league held a moment of silence:

"Certainly, it puts everything into perspective," executive vice president Stephen Jones said on 105.3 The Fan (h/t Archer). "You're playing a game that means a lot to a lot of people, but there are things a lot more important than that. Certainly, that's what we're going through this week.

"So, that'll be first and foremost, but then we do know, like anything, you've got to get back to work. We just want to continue to honor Marshawn and do everything the very best way we can."

The Cowboys selected Kneeland with a second-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft after he played collegiately at Western Michigan.

The defensive end appeared in 11 games as a rookie and seven games with three starts this season. He tallied the first sack of his career in the 2025 opener and scored a touchdown off a blocked-punt recovery against the Arizona Cardinals in the team's most recent game.

Dallas is 3-5-1 on the season and faces the Raiders next Monday.
