Dan Quinn Will Take Over Commanders' Defensive Play-Calling After 44-22 Loss to Lions
Following Sunday's 44-22 loss to the Detroit Lions, Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn is making a major change.
Quinn told reporters on Monday that he is taking over the defensive play-calling for the Commanders going forward.
The Commanders rank 30th in the NFL with 394.6 yards allowed per game this season. Sunday's loss marked the second time they've surrendered over 40 points in a game this year, and it extended their losing streak to five straight.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
In Quinn's first year as Washington's head coach, the team fared much better on the defensive side of the ball, ranking 13th in the league with 327.9 yards allowed per game. The team shocked the football world with its impressive run to the NFC Championship Game, but after falling to 3-7, there's a chance that it won't even make the playoffs this season.
Quinn is hoping that his influence will help turn around the Commanders' much-maligned defensive unit, but it took another hit on Monday. The NFL announced that Washington veteran defensive tackle Daron Payne will serve a one-game suspension in Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins for punching Detroit wide receiver Amon St. Brown in the second quarter of Sunday's loss. Payne has enjoyed a productive year with 30 total tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, a blocked field goal and five passes defended.
The Commanders will try to get back on track against the Dolphins when they meet in Madrid, Spain, on Sunday.
