Chargers Troll Steelers' 'Terrible Towel' With Meme Photo After SNF Win
The Los Angeles Chargers' social media team had no mercy for Pittsburgh Steelers fans on Sunday.
After their dominant 25-10 win over the Steelers, the Chargers posted a hilarious meme making fun of Pittsburgh's signature "Terrible Towel."
The Chargers' joke toward the Steelers comes after a game in which the away crowd arguably had more fans than the home crowd. Pittsburgh fans travel well and have been known to take over SoFi Stadium, and that was the case on Sunday.
Nonetheless, the Steelers fans in attendance and their waving towels did little to help their team.
Pittsburgh posted one of its worst performances of the year. Aaron Rodgers completed 16 of his 31 passes for 161 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions, and the Steelers had just 73 yards on the ground.
Meanwhile, the Chargers posted 314 yards of offense, with quarterback Justin Herbert going for 220 yards and a touchdown and running back Kimani Vidal posting 95 rushing yards and a touchdown.
With the win, Los Angeles improved to 7-3 on the year as it continues its quest for its first division title since 2009. The Chargers are currently in second place in the division behind the Denver Broncos.
They'll face the Jacksonville Jaguars next week, and the social media team is sure to have more memes prepared in case of a win.
