Stafford Makes NFL History, Rams Seen as Super Bowl Contenders by Fans After 49ers Win

The Los Angeles Rams (7-2) are cooking. Fans and pundits are thinking Super Bowl.

Matthew Stafford and the Rams torched the San Francisco 49ers (6-4) on Sunday, 42-26, led by the veteran quarterback's 280 passing yards and four touchdowns.

The San Francisco secondary was no match for Davante Adams (six catches for 77 yards and a score) or Puka Nacua (five catches for 64 yards and a touchdown), while Kyren Williams added 73 yards and two scores on the ground.

Sunday's win moved the team's Super Bowl odds to +600, tied with the Kansas City Chiefs for the best in the NFL.

And it had the NFL community taking the team very seriously as a top contender:

The NFC is pretty loaded at the moment. The Rams and Seattle Seahawks have identical records at the top of the NFC West. The defending champion Philadelphia Eagles are 6-2 and have a pivotal matchup against the Green Bay Packers (5-2-1) on Monday night. The Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are each 6-3. There's a lot of football left to be played, but it sure feels like this year's champions will come out of the NFC.

And the Rams currently look as dangerous as anybody in football.
