Jets Honor Nick Mangold, Will Wear Shirts with Legend's Photo Before Game vs. Browns
The New York Jets will honor the late Nick Mangold before Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns with a pregame shirt featuring his photo, the team announced:
Mangold, who played center for the Jets for the entirety of his NFL career from 2006 to 2016, died on Oct. 25 at the age of 41 due to complications from kidney disease. There will be remembrances for the legend throughout Sunday's game:

The team also revealed that players will be wearing a decal on their helmets with Mangold's No. 74:
Jets tight end Jeremy Ruckert, who grew up on Long Island as a fan of the franchise, wore Mangold's Ohio State jersey as he arrived at MetLife Stadium. Ruckert is also a former Buckeye.
New York quarterback Justin Fields was seen wearing the pregame shirt honoring Mangold when he took the field for warmups:
Former Jets defensive lineman Marty Lyons, a member of the team's famed "New York Sack Exchange," emotionally paid tribute to Mangold during the pregame show. Former left tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson, who was Mangold's 2006 draft classmate and also spent his entire career in New York, was on hand to share his thoughts on his longtime teammate as well.
Mangold's death occurred just a few hours before the Jets faced the Cincinnati Bengals on the road in Week 8. After entering the game with a 0-7 record, New York miraculously overcame a 15-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat Cincinnati 39-38 and earn its first win under first-year head coach Aaron Glenn. It was the second-largest fourth-quarter comeback in franchise history.
Mangold was a seven-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro. ESPN's Rich Cimini reported that three days before his death, he was informed that he was one of 52 modern-era semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026.
The Jets will surely try to be at their best against the Browns on a day when they're honoring one of their legendary players.
