A.J. Brown Talks Eagles Trade Rumors, Says He's 'Good to Go' vs. Packers amid Injury

Timothy RappNov 6, 2025

A.J. Brown missed the Philadelphia Eagles' 38-20 win over the New York Giants in Week 8 with a hamstring injury.

With a bye in Week 9 to rest up, however, it sounds as though Brown will be good to go for Monday night's critical matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

"I'm playing," he told reporters when asked about the status of his injury. "I'm good to go."

The Eagles listed Brown as a full participant at Thursday's practice.

Brown also found himself as the subject of trade rumors before Thursday's deadline, though it never felt likely that the Eagles—trying to repeat as Super Bowl contenders—would even entertain the notion of moving him, letting alone actually doing it.

"I don't know," Brown said when asked if he felt there was ever a chance he might be traded. "It's the nature of the business. Like I said, my focus [over the bye week] was to be present with my family, my kids, and get healthy."

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman made it pretty clear that the Birds had zero intention of trading Brown at any point.

"I think that when you're trying to be a great team, it's hard to trade great players, and A.J. Brown is a great player," Roseman told reporters Tuesday. "He wears a 'C' [as a captain] for a reason. He's an important part of this team, of this organization. He cares about winning, he cares about his teammates, and I think when you're a team like ours that is looking forward to an opportunity to compete for a championship, you just don't get rid of guys like that."

As for whether Brown wants to remain in Philadelphia, he made his feelings clear on the matter when questioned by a reporter.

"Yeah," he said, nodding. "Have I said anything [about not wanting] to be here?"

He has not, though he's made some cryptic remarks at points this season, namely as the Eagles have at times struggled to get him involved in the offense. While the team has seemingly gotten the ball rolling offensively in recent games, with new offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo finding more of a play-calling rhythm, much of the speculation was borne out of Brown's seeming frustration with his role in the offense.

But the 6-2 Birds remain Super Bowl contenders, and Brown looked like his usual self in a Week 7 win over the Minnesota Vikings, pulling in four catches for 121 yards and two touchdowns. The Eagles have been trending in a better direction, and it doesn't sound as though Brown is interested in playing elsewhere, at least for now.
