UConn, South Carolina Announce WCBB Series for 2026, 2027 Schedules

South Carolina and UConn announced they'll face off for a pair of games across the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons.

The first meeting will be Nov. 24, 2026, at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The second will follow the following November in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Fans of a certain vintage will recall the battles between UConn and Tennessee from the mid-1990s through the 2000s, when Geno Auriemma crossed paths with the late Pat Summitt.

While those two programs have renewed their rivalry, South Carolina has effectively taken the place of the Lady Vols in terms of importance. Dawn Staley turned the Gamecocks into a powerhouse and a dynasty that will define this era of women's basketball.

UConn and SC have played 16 times, and their head-to-head results tell the story of how the balance of power in the sport has shifted.

The Huskies won the first eight games before the Gamecocks took five of the next six. That run included a dominant 64-49 victory for South Carolina in the 2022 national championship.

UConn regained the upper hand with a pair of blowouts in 2024-25, first in the regular season and then in the title game.

The Gamecocks and Huskies both have some difficult non-conference games ahead this year, but they won't be crossing paths unless the stars align to set up another encounter in the Big Dance.
