Tom Brady Won't Pick Winner of Patriots vs. Bucs, 'Don't Ask Me to Pick Any Sides'

Scott PolacekNov 5, 2025

It will be something of a Tom Brady Bowl on Sunday when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the New England Patriots in a matchup between the legend's two former teams.

Just don't ask the man himself to pick a winner.

"We've got two teams who might feel like they have something to prove," Brady said when revealing his weekly power rankings Wednesday. "Yeah, I like that. And that usually results in a great football game. Just don't ask me to pick any sides here."

New England checked in at No. 6 on that list, while the Buccaneers were third behind only the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles.

Brady may not want to pick sides and even finished his career in Tampa Bay during a three-year stretch that included a Super Bowl title, but he will forever be associated with the Patriots. After all, he played the first 20 years of his career in New England and became arguably the best player in league history during the process.

He was a six-time Super Bowl champion, three-time MVP and 14-time Pro Bowler with the AFC East team and helped lead one of the most notable dynasties in NFL history. And now there's a statue of him outside of Gillette Stadium to forever memorialize his achievements.

Brady may be playing things neutral when it comes to Sunday's game between his former team, but there is a lot more history with the Patriots.
