Kyler Murray Injury Timetable Reportedly Revealed, Jacoby Brissett Named Cardinals QB1

Paul KasabianNov 4, 2025

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, who has been out with a mid-foot sprain suffered in a 22-21 home loss to the Tennessee Titans on Oct. 5, will unfortunately miss a little more time.

ESPN's Adam Schefter provided a potential timetable on Tuesday.

Jacoby Brissett will be the team's starting quarterback at the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, per head coach Jonathan Gannon to reporters on Tuesday.

Brissett has started the last three contests.

He's completed 65.8 percent of his passes for 860 yards, six touchdowns and just one interception. Brissett has also rushed for 49 yards and another score.

Ultimately, Gannon is clearly pleased with what he's seeing, so much so that he'd be starting Brissett even if Murray was healthy.

The Cardinals' offense has fared well under Brissett, scoring 77 points in three games. They were close to being 3-0 under his watch but fell 31-27 to the 7-2 Indianapolis Colts and 27-23 to the 5-2-1 Green Bay Packers.

On Monday, Arizona ended a five-game losing streak with a 27-17 road win over the Dallas Cowboys. Brissett arguably had his best and most efficient performance yet, completing 21-of-31 passes for 261 yards and two touchdowns while adding a rushing score.

He's leading a 3-5 Cardinals team that's capable of making a late-season run. Arizona's five losses have been by a combined 13 points, so this team isn't far off from being a playoff contender.

As it stands, the Cardinals are two games back of the Detroit Lions for the final NFC wild card spot, so they have some work to do. Right now, they're tasking Brissett with leading the squad while Murray recovers from injury.

A touch road matchup with the 6-2 Seahawks, who are fifth in scoring and fifth in points allowed, looms large on Sunday. It'll be Brissett running the show in Seattle and beyond as Arizona hopes to parlay the momentum from Monday in Dallas into a strong second half.
