Rashid Shaheed Traded to Seahawks from Saints for 2 Draft Picks, Updated Depth Chart
The Seattle Seahawks added some receiving depth ahead of the 2025 NFL trade deadline, acquiring speedy wideout Rashid Shaheed from the New Orleans Saints in exchange for fourth-and-fifth-round picks in the 2026 draft.
Here's a look at the Seahawks offensive depth chart now that Shaheed is in the lineup.
Seahawks Skill Position Depth Chart
QB: Sam Darnold, Drew Lock
WR: Jaxon Smith Njigba, Rashid Shaheed, Cooper Kupp, Tory Horton, Jake Bobo
RB: Kenneth Walker III, Zach Charbonnet
TE: AJ Barner, Elijah Arroyo
Cooper Kupp was sidelined for Week 9 with a hamstring injury. When Kupp is healthy, the move will likely bump rookie wideout Tory Horton down the depth chart.
Seattle will hope adding another target for Darnold can help the Seahawks (6-2) beat out the Los Angeles Rams (6-2) and San Francisco 49ers (6-3) for the top of the NFC West.
The Saints, meanwhile, will stock up on draft capital following a 1-8 start to the 2025 campaign.
Shaheed has made 44 catches for 499 receiving yards and two touchdowns while mostly playing with Spencer Rattler in New Orleans. Rattler has since been benched in favor of Tyler Shough.
Pairing Shaheed with a more consistent quarterback in Darnold, who has completed more than 70 percent of his passes through Week 9, could unlock a new a level for the fourth-year receiver.
The Seahawks will gain a deep threat to pair with Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Kupp. Shaheed heads to Seattle boasting a career average of 14.9 yards per catch.
Smith-Njigba, who leads the NFL with 948 receiving yards through eight games, is set to continue receiving the majority of the Seahawks' targets.
Horton has meanwhile taking on an increasingly large role throughout the early stretch of his rookie season.
He responded to Kupp's injury absence by recording a career-high four catches for 48 yards and two touchdowns in a Week 9 win at the Washington Commanders.
The 2025 fifth-rounder could see his playing time dip again if both Kupp and Shaheed are in the lineup in time for next Sunday's Week 10 matchup against the visiting Arizona Cardinals.
