Jaguars' Cam Little Predicts His NFL FG Record Will 'Probably' Be Broken This Season
Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Cam Little doesn't expect his 68-yarder from last Sunday's Week 9 overtime win over the Las Vegas Raiders to stand as the NFL field goal record for long.
Little named Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey as a candidate to break his new record in an interview with TMZ Sports.

"If the conditions are right, you may think you can go back to 70, potentially 72, in a game," Little said. "And there's a lot of guys. That's not even just me... it's crazy how good guys are getting.
"So you'll probably see, I hate to say this, but you'll probably see my record broken at some point this season. Because guys are so talented, and so good at kicking the football now."
Little set the new field goal record as time expired in the first half of Sunday's matchup with the Raiders.
Little previously made a successful kick from even farther, although it took place before the regular season.
The former sixth-round pick booted a 70-yard field goal during a preseason matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers back on Aug. 9.
The previous NFL record for a field goal was set by Justin Tucker with a 66-yarder in 2021.
Aubrey came close to beating that record by making a field goal from 65 yards out last season.
He's already made an attempt to match Little's new record, but went wide left on a 68-yarder during the Cowboys' Monday night loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
The surge in long field goals follows an NFL rule change that allows teams to break in kicking balls in the same way they break in game balls. Teams were previously only allowed to prepare these balls on game day.
Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio told reporters last month this rule change was the reason his team had given up a 65-yard field goal to Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker Chase McLaughlin in Week 4.
"These kicking balls that changed this year, have drastically changed the kicking game, field goals in particular," Fangio said. "So, it's almost like they need an asterisk here, like it was the live ball era."
Little told TMZ he feels kickoff rule changes that have moved touchbacks to the 35-yard line have contributed to the uptick in long field goal attempts.
"You see the ball starting at the 35, 40 sometimes, if they get a good return. That's a first down and a half for some guys around the league... the whole game plan changes at that point," Little said.
Kickers set an NFL record in 2024 with 195 field goals made from 50 yards out or further. That record is on track to be broken again this winter given that kickers have gone 97-for-142 from behind the 50-yard mark through Week 9, according to Pro Football Reference.
