Jerry Jones, Dak, Cowboys Called Out by NFL Fans After MNF Loss to MHJ, Cardinals

Scott PolacekNov 4, 2025

All it took for the Arizona Cardinals to get back into the win column was a matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.

Arizona snapped a five-game losing streak with a 27-17 victory over the Cowboys in Monday's NFC showdown at AT&T Stadium to improve to 3-5. While Kyler Murray was sidelined because of a foot injury, Jacoby Brissett went 21-of-31 for 261 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Marvin Harrison Jr. was also unstoppable for stretches on the way to seven catches for 96 yards and one touchdown, but the biggest story was Dallas' mistakes.

The Cowboys fell to 3-5-1 with their second straight loss thanks to a performance that included two lost fumbles, two turnovers on downs, an interception, a missed field goal and five sacks allowed. Dak Prescott went 24-of-39 for 250 yards, one touchdown and one interception, but it was largely empty production thanks to the mistakes.

Social media did not hold back when discussing Dallas and the roster team owner Jerry Jones put together:

Everything on paper was pointing to a straightforward Cowboys win considering they were at home and playing against a free-falling Cardinals team that was without Murray. But Arizona made it clear out of the gates that games aren't played on paper.

Brissett found Harrison for the game's first touchdown after the Ohio State product cooked DaRon Bland near the goal line and then capped off the first half with a touchdown of his own on a quarterback sneak. He was in full control against a struggling Dallas defense and outplayed his counterpart throughout the first half.

In fact, Prescott and Co. failed to put up a single point ahead of intermission as the Arizona defense set the early tone and kept the explosive unit in check.

Were it not for a blocked-punt touchdown from the home team, the Cardinals might have pulled away well before the fourth quarter. Brissett stayed hot following halftime with a touchdown pass to Trey McBride after a long completion to Michael Wilson to put the Cowboys behind by three scores.

Things went from bad to worse for the Cowboys offense when it turned the ball over on downs on the first play of the fourth quarter. It was yet the latest missed scoring opportunity for Dallas after also turning it over on downs and losing a Jake Ferguson fumble on two separate possessions in the first half.

The offense finally finished a drive with fewer than 11 minutes remaining when Prescott found Ryan Flournoy for a touchdown to cut the deficit to 10 and then built some much-needed momentum by driving into Arizona territory on the ensuing possession.

However, being in Arizona territory brought anything but good news for the Cowboys for much of Monday's loss, and their comeback chances fittingly all but came to an end with yet another mistake when Javonte Williams lost a fumble.

It certainly isn't how the NFC East team wanted to head into the bye week.
