Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis Fight Canceled, Paul to Headline Boxing Event in 2025

Andrew PetersNov 3, 2025

The bout between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis, which was initially set to take place on Friday, Nov. 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, has been cancelled.

Most Valuable Productions and Netflix announced the decision in a press release on Monday.

While Paul and Davis will no longer fight in November, Most Valuable Productions CEO Nakisa Bidarian revealed that Paul will still headline an event on Netflix in 2025.

"Our team has worked closely with all parties to navigate this situation responsibly," Bidarian said. "While we will not be moving forward with this event, our plan still remains for Jake Paul to headline an event on Netflix in 2025. Details regarding a new date, location, Jake's opponent, and additional bouts will be shared as soon as they are finalized. We thank Netflix, the Kaseya Center, and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for their partnership."

Paul, who began his boxing career in 2020, has a 12-1 record with seven knockouts, his only loss coming to Tommy Fury. He's won his last six fights, the last two coming against Mike Tyson last November and Julio César Chávez Jr. in June.

The matchup between Paul and Davis was only going to be an exhibition considering the stark size difference between the 6'1", 200-pound Paul and the 5'5", 138-pound Davis. Still, it would have been one of the biggest fights of Paul's career.

He said in September that he felt winning the fight could have gained him more respect.

"Once I beat this guy, more people will shut up, but at the end of the day, I'm really still just getting warmed up in the sport, and I'm going to show how good I am," he said. "This is a top-10 pound-for-pound fighter that I'm going to out-box... They're going to be like 'Wow, this kid is really doing something monumental in the sport and he's actually an insane boxer.' I'm going to show that this guy, who's been doing it his whole life, has been doing it wrong his whole life."

With the fight against Davis now scrapped, Paul will have to find another way to continue proving himself.

One possible replacement for the fight with Davis could be against Anthony Joshua. A bout between Paul and Joshua has been rumored for a while now, but has yet to develop into anything.

Joshua's promoter didn't rule out the possibility of an eventual fight last month. He also said there's a "chance" Joshua will be back in the ring at some point this year. With Paul now needing an opponent for a headlining event, Joshua could be the perfect opponent.
