Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Going back-to-back was difficult enough for L.A. The team needed a game-tying home run from Miguel Rojas in the ninth inning in Game 7, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa was inches away from scoring the winning run for the Toronto Blue Jays a half-inning later.
The Dodgers also won five fewer games in 2025 despite a busy offseason that included adding Blake Snell and Tanner Scott while retaining Teoscar Hernández. Fans and observers spent weeks arguing whether the franchise was "ruining" the sport.
By the end, manager Dave Roberts was reduced to using Yoshinobu Yamamoto with zero rest because he couldn't trust his bullpen.
Looking ahead to 2026, Los Angeles figures to be the early favorite. None of the key pieces is heading out the door, and the front office will presumably attempt to shore up the roster's weaknesses in free agency.
But there's a reason no MLB team has won three World Series in a row since the New York Yankees in 2000. A 162-game season is a grind where a lot of different things can go wrong, and a playoff series can leave a lot to chance.
The Dodgers won't rest on their laurels. Nevertheless, history isn't on their side in their quest for a third successive title.
