Luke McCaffrey, Marshon Lattimore Suffer Long-Term Injuries During Commanders' Loss

Joseph ZuckerNov 3, 2025

Washington Commanders wide receiver Luke McCaffrey is heading to injured reserve because of a broken collarbone and cornerback Marshon Lattimore is feared to have a torn ACL, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

McCaffrey exited Sunday night's 38-14 defeat to the Seattle Seahawks after fielding the opening kickoff. Lattimore left in the third quarter and walked off with a brace on his left knee.

The injuries continue to pile up for Washington.

Star wideout Terry McLaurin was sidelined for Week 9 after aggravating a lingering quad issue. Then head coach Dan Quinn watched McCaffrey, Lattimore and quarterback Jayden Daniels all go down against the Seahawks. Daniels dislocated his elbow while getting sacked in the fourth quarter, per Rapoport.

McCaffrey has maintained a supporting role in the offense with 11 catches for 203 yards and three touchdowns through nine games.

The 2024 third-round pick is more valuable in special teams, where he's the primary kick return option. He's averaging 29.6 yards on 26 returns, and his 769 total yards are second only to the Tennessee Titans' Chimere Dike (1,108).

Lattimore has struggled to recapture the form that earned him four Pro Bowl nods in his first five seasons. He has 27 tackles and seven pass breakups. According to Pro Football Reference, he's allowing 14.8 yards per completion and an 84.9 passer rating when targeted.

The Commanders as a whole are allowing the fourth-most passing yards per game (253.6).

The collective effect of Washington's absences will make it tougher for Washington to rebound from a 3-6 record and get back to the playoffs.
