While some NFL fans might be going full "eyes emoji" at the sight of the eagle emoji being used, believing it could be a reference to the Philadelphia Eagles ahead of Tuesday's NFL trade deadline, Crosby, in fact, uses that emoji frequently at the end of his posts on social media.
Here's a smattering:
There will also be NFL fans who read that post as a goodbye from Crosby, though that's unlikely, given that he's never given any indication he wants to leave and signed a three-year, $106.5 million extension in the offseason.
He's also been pretty adamant in the past that he wants to remain with the Raiders.
"Come on bro, you know where I want to be," Crosby told reporters in Oct. 2024 as drama swirled around the team. "You think I want to be anywhere else? No. I got this s--t tatted on my body [the Raiders logo on his right elbow]. I don't want to go anywhere. It is just funny. You've got a lot of people that have a lot to say when they really don't know what's going on."
And on Oct. 21 of this year, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero and Jane Slater reported that "the Raiders and Crosby met Tuesday, with the team conveying it was not shopping him nor would it trade him. Crosby has no desire to be traded, either. Unsurprisingly, teams are interested in Crosby, but he's going nowhere."
Plenty of teams need pass-rushers and would be interested in adding a four-time Pro Bowler like Crosby. The Raiders could fetch a major haul for him, too. But the safe assumption is that Crosby will be staying put.
