Chargers' Daiyan Henley Comments on Playing vs. Titans After Brother Dies in Shooting
Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Daiyan Henley made the decision to play in Sunday's 27-20 win over the Tennessee Titans after his brother, Jabari Henley, was shot and killed in Los Angeles on Friday.
"I had a lot of pain, man, a lot of pain," he told reporters. "I just wanted to go out there and just let it out, whatever I had to get out."
Henley dropped to his knees and said a prayer after sacking Cam Ward in the second quarter.

"I just wanted to talk to my brother one more time," he said. "It was just an emotional moment for me just to be able to make a play on a day like this, just losing him so soon."
Henley finished the game with seven tackles, a sack and pass deflection.
"As traumatizing as all this is, I got a job to do," Henley said. "For me, it was coming out here and handling a job first and then being emotional after, and everything hit me pretty hard."
The 25-year-old linebacker is in his third year with the Chargers after being a third-round pick of the team in 2023. He was excellent last season, registering 147 tackles, one sack, one interception and four passes defensed in 17 games.
The Chargers moved to 6-3 following Sunday's win.
