Caleb Williams, Colston Loveland GW TD Thrills NFL Fans as Bears Beat Flacco, Bengals

Peak. Cinema.

The Chicago Bears and Cincinnati Bengals just played one of the wildest and most thrilling games of the 2025 season, with the Bears winning a 47-42 stunner that could best be described as "defense optional."

Caleb Williams hit tight end Colston Loveland for a game-winning, 58-yard touchdown pass with just 17 seconds remaining to seal a game the Bears nearly gave away in one of the zaniest and exciting fourth quarters you'll ever see.

Suffice to say, fans and pundits alike were shocked by the result:

Here's why: The Bears took a 41-27 lead with 4:53 remaining in the fourth quarter on a 17-yard touchdown run from D.J. Moore.

On the ensuing drive, Joe Flacco threw an interception in the red zone and it appeared Tremaine Edmunds took it to the house, a play that would have ended the game. But officials ruled him down by contact and the Bengals forced a three-and-out.

Flacco then led the Bengals down the field in four plays and 32 seconds, hitting Noah Fant on a 23-yard touchdown pass with 1:43 remaining. The Bengals then converted the two-point attempt, cutting the deficit to six.

But things really got interesting when the Bengals also converted their onside kick try, giving them the chance to take the lead with a touchdown. They did just that six plays later on nine-yard touchdown pass to Andrei Iosivas.

It was a stunning turnaround, with one caveat—the Bengals left the Bears 54 seconds to potentially get into field-goal range, albeit with no timeouts left. Williams threw two incompletions before scrambling for 14 yards, and on the next play, the magic happened, as the Bengals failed to tackle Loveland.

When the dust settled, Williams had thrown for 280 yards and three touchdowns, rushed for 53 yards and even caught a touchdown pass. Rookie Kyle Monangai added 26 rushes for 176 yards and Loveland pulled down six passes for 118 yards and two scores.

The 40-year-old Flacco threw for 420 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. Age truly is just a number.

So the party is underway in Chicago, as the Bears moved to 5-3 on the season. It's heartbreak and angst in Cincinnati, meanwhile, as the Bengals dropped to 3-6, once again let down by one of the worst defenses in the sport.

"I can't believe it. I can't believe it, Cincinnati head coach Zac Taylor told reporters after the game. "The game was right there and we can't find a way to get it done. Just need to make one play."

Instead, it was Williams and Loveland who made the play.
