Brian Daboll Called Out by Fans as Dart, Giants Lose to 49ers After Skattebo Injury
The New York Giants fell to 2-7 after losing 34-24 at home to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
San Francisco running back Christian McCaffrey amassed 173 total yards (106 rushing, 67 receiving) and two touchdowns, one in the air and one on the ground.
This marked the 16th time that CMC has had a rushing TD and receiving TD in the same game, breaking a record he once co-held with Pro Football Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk.

Mac Jones also completed 19-of-24 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns.
The 49ers had little issue moving the ball all game, as evidenced by Bobby Skinner of the Giants Nation Show's re-telling of a nine-play, 76-yard touchdown drive that gave San Francisco a 26-10 fourth quarter lead.
Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, playing without WR1 Malik Nabers and RB1 Cam Skattebo due to season-ending injuries, did all he could, completing 24-of-33 passes for 191 yards and two scores while adding 56 rushing yards and a score as well. Two of those scores did come in garbage time, but the Giants were fighting uphill due to a porous defense.
Ultimately, the losses keep adding up in the Joe Schoen-Brian Daboll era.
Daboll joined the Giants as their head coach after a successful stint as the Buffalo Bills' offensive coordinator. He was part of a new era that also included new general manager Joe Schoen, the ex-Bills assistant GM.
Big Blue had a great first year under Daboll, improving from 4-13 to 9-7-1. New York made the playoffs for the first time since 2016 and won a postseason game for the first time since 2011.
It's been all downhill ever since, with the team going 6-11 in 2023 and 3-14 in 2024. New York is now 11-31 since 2023, 5-21 since 2014 and 3-18 since a 2-3 beginning after five weeks last season.
This was a home game for the Giants, but you wouldn't have known it watching on television based on the sea of red representing the legion of 49ers fans in the crowd screaming for the road team.
That represents the state of the Giants, who entered this game having gone 2-6 or 1-7 in their first eight games in eight of the last nine seasons.
New York was showing signs of life and excitement just a few weeks ago after crushing the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles 34-17 on Oct. 9 behind the star rookie duo of quarterback Jaxson Dart and running back Cam Skattebo.
However, since then, the Giants blew leads of 19-0, 26-8 and 32-30 in the fourth quarter en route to a 33-32 road loss to the Denver Broncos. They then lost 38-20 to those same Eagles and more importantly lost Skattebo to a serious season-ending leg injury.
Now a shorthanded Giants team fell to a shorthanded 49ers team missing a host of players, including quarterback Brock Purdy, edge-rusher Nick Bosa, linebacker Fred Warner and more.
During and after the game, fans expressed frustrations with Daboll.
The slate doesn't get any easier for the Giants. Three of their next four games are on the road, and none of those teams have losing record. The stretch includes matchups with the Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions and the New England Patriots.
The Bears are up first on the road on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
