Breece Hall Trade Reportedly Won't Happen Unless Jets Get 'An Offer They Can't Refuse'
The New York Jets won't deal running back Breece Hall unless they get "an offer they can't refuse," ESPN's Rich Cimini reported Sunday as Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET trade deadline looms.
"Barring an offer they can't refuse, the Jets won't trade running back Breece Hall," Cimini wrote. "You can put defensive tackle Quinnen Williams and defensive end Will McDonald IV in this category, too."
The 24-year-old Hall, an impending free agent playing in the final season of his four-year rookie contract, just amassed 147 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns (two rushing, one passing) in a 39-38 road win over the Cincinnati Bengals last Sunday.

For the season, Hall has gained 759 total yards from scrimmage, including 72.6 rushing yards per game, which ranks 10th in the NFL.
The 1-7 Jets are almost certainly playing out the string of a season that will end outside the playoffs, and they are at risk of losing Hall in free agency next offseason. Given his production and track record, it makes sense for Hall to be a potential trade target, but signs are pointing toward New York keeping him past Tuesday.
For starters, the Jets understandably want a big return on a Hall trade, per The Athletic's Dianna Russini.
"The Jets have been getting calls on RB Breece Hall for a while, and while there is interest, New York is looking for at least a third-round pick in return. Hall is in the final year of his rookie deal," Russini reported. "Teams are also continuing to monitor DT Quinnen Williams, despite a high price tag."
Simply put, the Jets may not get a Day 2 pick in return for a player who could very well be on that team for just one half-season.
Last Wednesday, ESPN's Dan Graziano reported that people inside Jets headquarters were "leery" of trading Hall. He cited the team's lack of depth at the position (Braelon Allen is notably out until at least December with a knee injury) as well as Hall's abilities, specifically his explosive performance against Cincinnati.
Graziano did add that the Jets would "probably take" a "strong enough offer" for Hall.
"The fact is, there's a price for almost everything, and if a team gives the Jets a strong enough offer for Hall, they would probably take it," Graziano wrote.
"But a couple of weeks ago, I would have expected them to deal Hall just to get something in return before he left as a free agent. Now, it feels more possible that they consider bringing Hall back next season, in which case they might be more hesitant to trade him now."
With two days left until the deadline, that strong offer hasn't materialized. In the meantime, the Jets are on their bye week, with their next game set for Sunday at home against the Cleveland Browns. At the moment, Hall appears likely to lead the backfield that day.
