Blue Jays' Addison Barger Talks 'Bad Read' That Ended World Series G6 on Double Play
The Toronto Blue Jays' hopes of winning the World Series in six games ended when Andrés Giménez lined out to center field and Addison Barger failed to get back to second base before the throw.
After the 3-1 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers, Barger admitted that he made a "bad read."
"I was pretty surprised he got to it," Barger told reporters. "Off the bat, I thought it was going to go [right] over the shortstop's head. I didn't think it was going to travel that far.

"It was kind of a bad read."
Trailing by two runs in the bottom of the ninth, Alejandro Kirk got on base after being hit by a pitch from Rōki Sasaki. Barger then hit a line drive that wedged into the outfield wall, putting runners at second and third with no outs.
The Jays were still alive after Ernie Clement's pop out, but Barger misread the line drive and got too far away from second to return safely.
"I thought it was getting down 1,000 percent," he said.
But the mistake from Barger didn't cost Toronto the series. The Blue Jays and Dodgers will play a decisive Game 7 in Toronto on Saturday. The Jays are looking for their first World Series title since 1993.
