Trey Hendrickson Trade Would Reportedly Interest Colts if Bengals Amend Stance on Deal

Andrew PetersNov 1, 2025

The Cincinnati Bengals reportedly aren't interested in trading star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson, but one contender could be interested if they change their plans.

Per ESPN's Stephen Holder, the 7-1 Indianapolis Colts "continue to look for potential deals, and have even sought out a few." Holder noted that the Colts "would likely have interest" in Hendrickson if the Bengals decide to trade him.

Holder added that Cincinnati has told teams it won't trade Hendrickson without getting "exorbitant draft-pick compensation in return," and the Colts are not expecting the Bengals to trade the 2024 sacks leader.

Cincinnati is 3-5 on the season and will be without star quarterback Joe Burrow until at least mid-December. Considering their playoff chances are already slim, the Bengals trading Hendrickson wouldn't be that surprising, but it seems it will take a lot for him to be dealt.

In August, Hendrickson ended a lengthy holdout by agreeing to a new contract with the Bengals that gave him a $14 million raise.

The Colts have one of the best offenses in the NFL this year, leading the league in yards per game (385.3) and points per game (33.8). Indianapolis's defense could hold it back in the postseason, however, making it a point of emphasis ahead of the deadline.

Even if the Colts can't land a star like Hendrickson, bolstering the defense with a pass rusher would be wise.
