Benjamin Stambouli to PSG: Latest Transfer Details, Reaction and More

Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed the signing of Tottenham Hotspur defensive midfielder Benjamin Stambouli on a five-year deal.

The 24-year-old Frenchman only joined the north London outfit last summer, but he was confirmed on Tuesday as PSG's newest player:

Per BBC Sport, he moves to the Parc des Princes for a reported £6 million fee. Stambouli said upon the move being confirmed that he could not resist the chance to switch to PSG, per the club's website:

Stambouli made very little impact at White Hart Lane in 2014-15, starting only four Premier League matches, per WhoScored.com.

However, his previous experience in Ligue 1 consists of four seasons with the Montpellier senior team—he also played for many years in their youth setup—including playing a significant role in the club's 2011-12 title triumph.

The deal looks as though it could be beneficial to all involved, as not only have PSG got their man, but Spurs have made a profit on a non-essential player.
