NFL Trade Rumors, Predictions for Myles Garrett, Chuba Hubbard and Kayvon Thibodeaux
The 2025 NFL season has reached its midway point and teams are looking for any piece that can help them get over the proverbial hump and make them a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
That includes players stuck on losing teams, with little to no chance of making the postseason.
Three such players are Myles Garrett, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Chuba Hubbard, all potentially intriguing difference makers who can elevate a contending team to favorites to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.
Are their current teams willing to part with them, though, and where might they end up?
Find out with this collection of insider reports.
Myles Garrett Update

The Cleveland Browns will not be trading Myles Garrett.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that, according to one source, there is "no chance" the star defensive end is traded. The source added, "People have a better chance of winning the lottery."
The 29-year-old is tied with the New York Giants' Brian Burns for the sacks lead with 10 and, as is typically the case when he is healthy and playing at his fullest potential, will be a Defensive Player of the Year candidate.
He is also on a Browns team that is predictably bad, despite leading a defense giving up the third-fewest yards per game.
Garrett signed a four-year deal to stay in Cleveland this past offseason, despite attempting to force a trade amid frustration over the team's latest rebuild. The new contract includes a no-trade clause, which means the superstar would have to approve any move, anyway.
One of the best players in football and the premier defensive lineman in the game, Garrett would fetch an enormous haul for the Browns, but moving him would be further admission of failure and leave the team without a foundational, franchise piece to build around.
While several contending teams are looking for pass rushers ahead of the deadline, and Garrett would be the best of them all, he will stay put and continue demonstrating his excellence in Cleveland.
Prediction: Garrett stays put
Will New York Move on From Kayvon Thibodeaux?

The New York Giants selected Oregon pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux with the fifth overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and, while he has flashed the brilliance that led to him being taken that high, he has also battled injury and inconsistent play, leaving some to believe he may be a prime trade candidate ahead of the deadline.
Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported that a few teams have reached out to the Giants about potentially acquiring Thibodeaux but have been told the team has no interest in trading him.
The team recently picked up his fifth-year option and "they intend on having him in 2026."
Thibodeaux has played in eight games this season, recording 21 total tackles and 2.5 sacks.
His 2023 campaign was, by far, his best. He played a full 17-game slate, tallied 50 tackles, and got to the quarterback 11.5 times. He also forced three fumbles that season.
While it remains to be seen if Thibodeaux will ever fully live up to the expectations that led to his top-five NFL Draft status, it does not appear as though the Giants are ready or willing to move on from him and his potential as an explosive, game-changing defender.
Prediction: Thibodeaux stays put in New York
Teams Interested in Chuba Hubbard

The Carolina Panthers are 4-4 and in an unenviable task for figuring out whether they are buyers, sellers, or standing pat as the trade deadline approaches. One name garnering interest is running back Chuba Hubbard, who missed two weeks with a calf injury and watched as Rico Dowdle became the unquestioned No. 1 back for the Panthers.
According to Joseph Person of The Athletic, "The Panthers don't want to move Hubbard, who was one of the guys Canales leaned on while establishing a culture during his first season."
He added, "The Panthers gave Hubbard a four-year, $33.2 million extension last year that includes a $4 million guaranteed salary this year and $4.5 million guaranteed in 2026."
Hubbard has been one of the consistently strong players on the roster, through the many ups and downs of his five seasons with the team. The 26-year-old Canadian-born player carried 250 times for 1,195 yards in just 15 games with the team last year, supplanting Miles Sanders as the starter.
A strong, persistent runner with a career average of 4.1 yards per carry and 136 receptions for 867 yards, he has bridged the gap between quarterbacks and been the lifeblood of an offense that has struggled at times during his career.
He has been a workhorse for the organization when it was a laughingstock and forced to rebuild with the No. 1 overall pick.
While the team may not want to move on, an offer that is too good to turn down may persuade them to.
Otherwise, expect Hubbard to stay put, the ultimately selfless player, ready to step in and make a difference if and when the coaching staff calls his number.
Prediction: Hubbard stays with Carolina
