Bears' Top 4 WRs Miss Practice with Injuries, Latest on Moore, Odunze Before Bengals

Zach BacharOct 29, 2025

The Chicago Bears' receiving corps is banged up heading into a Week 9 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Bears wide receivers DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, Olamide Zaccheaus and Luther Burden III were all unable to participate in practice on Wednesday.

Moore is dealing with hip and groin issues, while Odunze is navigating through a heel injury. Zaccheaus is managing a knee injury and Burden didn't participate in practice due to a concussion.

Moore was taken to the hospital for a groin injury following Chicago's Week 6 victory over the Washington Commanders, but has still appeared in each of the team's two games since.

The 28-year-old hasn't experienced many issues with availability throughout his career, as his last missed game occurred during the 2020 season.

Odunze has also appeared in all seven of Chicago's regular-season contests this year and is coming off a seven-catch, 114-yard performance against the Baltimore Ravens. The Bears could be taking a cautious approach with the former first-round pick's health.

Zaccheaus suffered his knee injury in the victory over Baltimore, with Bears head coach Ben Johnson telling reporters Monday that the veteran was considered "day-to-day" moving forward.

Burden was ruled out of the clash with the Ravens due to a concussion suffered in the second half of the win. He'll need to clear concussion protocol before his availability against Cincinnati is determined.

Chicago may not be without all four receivers during the upcoming battle with the Bengals, though.

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reported that the Bears held a "large tryout" on Tuesday but didn't host any wide receivers, which could mean that they aren't concerned about being forced to utilize their depth at the position.

Kickoff between the Bears and Bengals on Sunday is at 1 p.m. ET.
