Jets Insiders Reportedly 'Leery' of Breece Hall Trade Amid 2025 NFL Deadline Rumors
Despite being a popular name in trade rumors leading up to the Nov. 4 deadline, the New York Jets don't appear to be in a rush to deal Breece Hall.
Per ESPN's Dan Graziano, people within the Jets organization are "leery" of trading Hall given how thin they are at running back right now and his impressive showing in a Week 8 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Jets have frequently popped up in trade discussions because of their 0-7 start to the season. They did have a nice moment on Sunday with a dramatic win over the Bengals, but their focus should be on 2026 and beyond.
In addition to Hall, Jermaine Johnson, Michael Carter II and Will McDonald IV have been talked about as trade candidates. Johnson seemed to indicate on social media that he's going to remain in New York past the deadline.
Hall would make sense to be moved because he is in the final season of his rookie contract, but the upside he offers for a Jets offense desperately in need of playmakers might make him more valuable to them than anyone else.
The 24-year-old is having a terrific rebound season after averaging a career-low 4.2 yards per carry in 2024. He ranks sixth in the NFL with 581 rushing yards and seventh with 759 yards from scrimmage.
No other players on the Jets has reached 400 scrimmage yards through the first eight weeks of the season.
The Jets are also going to be without Braelon Allen for potentially the rest of the season after he suffered a knee injury in a Week 4 loss to the Miami Dolphins.
Isaiah Davis has been great when he is on the field with 7.3 yards per touch, but the 23-year-old hasn't played more than 33 offensive snaps in a game this season.
Jets decision-makers do have time to think about their position ahead of the trade deadline. They are on a bye this week before playing the Cleveland Browns on Nov. 9.
A team in need of help at running back could come in with an offer too good for the Jets to turn down, but Hall's age and performance so far could make him a candidate to be brought back by the team on a new contract in 2026.
