Connor Bedard Scores 1st Career NHL Hat Trick on Video for Blackhawks vs. Senators
Connor Bedard reached an important milestone on Tuesday night.
Bedard recorded his first career hat trick, scoring three goals during the Chicago Blackhawks' 7-3 win over the Ottawa Senators at the United Center.
The hat trick came in Bedard's 160th career game.
He came close to accomplishing the feat multiple times before finally breaking through on Tuesday, recording two goals on five separate occasions during his first two years with the Blackhawks.
Chicago drafted Bedard with the No. 1 overall pick in 2023. He showed why he entered his inaugural year with high expectations right away, leading all rookies with 22 goals and 61 points in 68 games during his 2023-24 campaign.
Bedard ended up taking home the 2024 Calder Trophy for his efforts.
He started off slow during his 2024-25 sophomore season, but was still able to end the year with 67 points across his 82 appearances.
This year, Bedard has six goals and six assists in 10 games. He's looking to help Chicago capture its first Stanley Cup playoff appearance since 2020 alongside fellow rising star Frank Nazar.
Nazar recorded one goal and one assist in Tuesday's victory.
With the win, the Blackhawks now own a 5-3-2 record to open the season.
