Giants' Cam Skattebo Thanks Fans for Support After Injury, 'Beginning of My Journey'

New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo offered an update on social media after suffering a season-ending dislocated ankle on Sunday and undergoing successful surgery in Philadelphia shortly thereafter.

"Thank you everyone for the support!!" he posted. "Surgery went well. I just want to thank the city of Philly for taking the best care of me. Every moment I spent in the hospital with family and friends I felt loved and supported in every way thank you to the doctors, surgeons and staff that did their best work on me. This is just the beginning of my journey and I can't wait to show you guys all about it!!! GOD has a plan for me, stick the course and it will all work itself out, BRB."

The 23-year-old was having a fantastic rookie season before suffering his ankle injury during Sunday's 38-20 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles, rushing for 410 yards and five touchdowns while catching 24 passes for 207 yards and another two scores on the year.

It's clear that the Giants now have a promising young offensive core in place with Skattebo at running back, Jaxson Dart at quarterback and Malik Nabers at wideout.

Both Skattebo and Nabers are now out for the remainder of the 2025 season, however, a disappointing development for a Giants team that has been more competitive than its 2-6 record would suggest (two of their losses have come by a combined four points).

Skattebo has immediately endeared himself to both the Giants and New York at large, with his physical running style and big personality making him an instant fan favorite.

"Yeah, I was devastated," Dart told reporters after the game. "It's my boy, man. So seeing him go down and obviously reacting to what happened, that sucks. It's the worst part of this game."

"It's really hard to see," wide receiver Darius Slayton added. "A young guy who was having a heck of a year. Somebody who is a unifying personality, an energetic personality. It's sad to see him go down."
