Upcoming Schedule
Championship Race: Sunday, November 2 at Phoenix (3 p.m. ET, NBC)
Byron's win set up a Hendrick Motorsports-versus-Joe Gibbs Racing duel for the championship next Sunday at Phoenix.
Hamlin and Briscoe were the Gibbs cars to move into the championship four from their wins in the last two weeks at Las Vegas and Talladega.
Byron got it into the final four through his win in Martinsville and Larson topped the remaining five playoff drivers on points.
Larson edged out a handful of final-four hopefuls with his fifth-place finish. Most notably, Ryan Blaney took second behind Byron at Martinsville, but the finish wasn't good enough to eclipse Larson on points.
Two Gibbs cars led the race at Phoenix back in March. Hamlin took second behind his teammate Christopher Bell. Larson took third in that race.
Byron also produced a top-10 finish back in March in the desert. Briscoe was the only one of the championship four with a bad finish there, as he landed in 35th.
Hamlin, despite his 60 Cup Series wins, has never won the Cup Series season title. Larson is the only one of the championship four to have previously won a Cup Series crown in 2021.
Whichever driver comes out on top next Sunday will end the three-year title reign of Team Penske and Ford.
