Jaxson Dart Backs Skattebo After Injury, Calls Giants' Loss to Eagles 'Embarrassing'

Andrew PetersOct 26, 2025

Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart has spent most of his life playing for teams that were at least somewhat competitive, but he's now on a struggling New York Giants squad.

The Giants' offense got a tough break against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, with rookie running back Cam Skattebo suffering a serious ankle injury, which will require surgery. Dart showed love for Skattebo on his Instagram after the game.

The Giants dropped to 2-4 with a loss to the Eagles. Getting blown out the way New York did on Sunday is a new feeling for Dart.

"I have to think of the right way to say this: I thought they really kind of dominated most of the game, and it's an embarrassing feeling," he told reporters after the game. "We've gotta figure out ways to win, because I hate losing. I'm not used to it. I'm not gonna accept. Our team's not gonna accept it."

Sunday's 38-20 loss to the Eagles was the largest margin of defeat for the Giants so far this season. Jalen Hurts threw for 179 yards and four touchdowns while running backs Saquon Barkley and Tank Bigsby combined for 254 rushing yards.

Dart had a decent outing, throwing for 193 yards and a touchdown on 14-of-24 passing, but it was far from enough on a night in which New York's offense couldn't slow down the Eagles.

After back-to-back losses, the Giants will look to get back on track next week against the San Francisco 49ers.
