Tom Brady Wanted to Beat Patriots 'By 100' with Bucs, Talks Aaron Rodgers vs. Packers

Doric SamOct 26, 2025

Legendary quarterback Tom Brady weighed in on Pittsburgh Steelers veteran Aaron Rodgers' first game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football, and he reminisced about his own experience from his playing days.

Brady revealed that he was extra motivated in his first meeting against the New England Patriots after joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers later in his career, and he expects Rodgers to feel the same way.

"If I'm A-Rod, I want to crush the Packers, I want to make that really clear. Don't tell this to Mr. Kraft, but I wanted to beat the Patriots by 100 when I was at the Bucs and we played them," Brady said on Fox's NFL Pregame Show on Sunday. "Fortunately, we squeaked away with a win, but that was the attitude that you have to take."

Rodgers was traded from the Packers in 2023 after 18 seasons with the franchise. He made it clear this week that he doesn't view Sunday night's matchup as an opportunity to stick it to his former team.

"I don't have any animosity toward the organization," Rodgers said Wednesday. "Obviously, I wish that things had been better in our last year there, but I have a great relationship with a lot of people still in that organization, and this is not a revenge game for me. I'm just excited to see some of those guys and be on Sunday Night Football again."

Still, if Brady's prediction is correct, Rodgers will be playing with some extra fire under the bright lights of primetime as he tries to lead the Steelers past the Packers.
