Joe Flacco Makes History, Passes Terrell Owens as Oldest Bengals Player to Score TD

Doric SamOct 26, 2025

Veteran quarterback Joe Flacco spent most of his career as a rival of the Cincinnati Bengals, and now he's in their record books.

After scoring a rushing touchdown in the first quarter of Cincinnati's game against the New York Jets on Sunday, the 40-year-old Flacco is now the oldest Bengals player ever to reach the end zone, surpassing Terrell Owens.

Flacco spent the first 11 seasons of his career with the Baltimore Ravens, and he was a member of the Cleveland Browns before being traded to the Bengals earlier this season. He has a career record of 9-13 against Cincinnati, but now he's being tasked with leading the team back to playoff contention after a tough start to the season.

The Bengals lost quarterback Joe Burrow to toe surgery and fell to 2-3 after Jake Browning took over as the starter. Flacco lost his Cincinnati debut against the Green Bay Packers before bouncing back last week with a 33-31 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, who were riding a three-game win streak.

Flacco's been known for his steady demeanor, and he's already endeared himself to his new team just weeks after arriving to Cincinnati.

"It's honestly good having him here for us," Bengals star receiver Ja'Marr Chase said after the win over the Steelers. "Organization made a big jump on him. We believed in him. We got him. He came in, doing his thing and showing off for us."

Flacco will continue to show off after being rejuvenated with the Bengals, and Sunday's touchdown showed that he still has a lot of juice left.
