The 27-year-old was stellar in the victory, allowing just four hits and one run in nine innings of work. He also racked up eight strikeouts without a walk.
Yamamoto's performance was particularly impressive as it came against a Blue Jays lineup that amassed 11 runs on 14 hits in Game 1.
It marked his second consecutive complete game in the postseason, as he pitched all nine innings during Los Angeles' 2-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers during Game 2 of the NLCS.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts discussed Yamamoto's mindset when pitching deep into games.
"I think that you look at Yamamoto, it's kind of the throwback in the sense of when he starts a game, he expects to finish it," Roberts said after Saturday's victory, per MLB.com's Sonja Chen. "And he'll go as long as I let him."
Yamamoto is in the midst of a stellar 2025 campaign, posting a 12-8 record in 30 regular-season starts to go along with a 2.49 ERA and 0.990 WHIP. He allowed a mere 113 hits in 173.2 innings of work, earning All-Star honors.
Through two games of the 2025 World Series, the Dodgers and Blue Jays are tied 1-1 with the series heading back to Los Angeles after Yamamoto helped his team avoid a disastrous 2-0 deficit.
