A.J. Brown, Lamar Jackson, NFL Injury Statuses and Fantasy Impact for Week 8

Joe TanseyOct 24, 2025

The Philadelphia Eagles will be without a massive piece on Sunday.

A.J. Brown was ruled out for the Week 8 clash with the New York Giants due to a hamstring injury.

It's less-than-ideal news for fantasy football players, who already have to deal with bye weeks for Amon-Ra St. Brown, Puka Nacua, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Brian Thomas Jr.

A.J. Brown Out For NFC East Rematch with Giants

A.J. Brown won't be able to keep up the momentum he created in Week 7.

The Eagles' star wideout is out with a hamstring injury one week after he posted 121 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Brown's absence is a huge blow to the Eagles offense and to fantasy football players without a handful of wide receivers due to byes and injuries in Week 8.

DeVonta Smith is due for a huge uptick in production, as is Dallas Goedert, but both players are widely rostered in fantasy football leagues.

Jahan Dotson and John Metchie will naturally get more snaps, but neither player has made an impact this year. Dotson is more of a big-play threat and slot receiver, while Metchie fits more of what the Eagles miss with Brown not on the field.

Denver's Marvin Mims and Troy Franklin are worth looks off the waiver wire since the Broncos play the league-worst Dallas Cowboys passing defense.

Cincinnati owns the second-worst passing defense, but trusting Josh Reynolds or Tyler Johnson with Tyrod Taylor at the helm for the New York Jets will be too much of a risk for many fantasy players to take with their roster.

Tennesse's Elic Ayomanor is a sleeper pick at wide receiver against a Colts defense that's allowed the second-most receiving yards to wide outs. Ayomanor is WR1 in Tennessee with Calvin Ridley still out.

Lamar Jackson Upgraded to Questionable

The Ravens received much better news on the injury front ahead of Week 8.

Lamar Jackson was a full participant in Friday's practice and has been upgraded to questionable for Sunday's game against the Bears.

Chicago's overall defensive numbers look good, but its two highest pass-yard concessions occurred against its two toughest opponents, Dallas and Detroit.

Jackson should have plenty of success in his likely return to the Baltimore offense, which immediately boosts the fantasy stock of Zay Flowers and all of the Ravens' top pass-catchers.

Flowers should receive a boost in production, which is a welcome sight for fantasy players with any one of a few top wide outs on bye in Week 8.

Rashod Bateman is worth a look on the waiver wire with Jackson's impending return. Bateman is widely available because he only had eight receiving yards in the last two weeks.
