Week 8 Fantasy Football Rankings with Flex and PPR Outlook for Each Position
We're only one game into Week 8, but many fantasy managers are likely already short on must-start options. Injuries are part of the equation, of course, but this week will also see more teams on bye than any other week in 2025.
The Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks are all out of action this week. This means that stars like Trey McBride, Jahmyr Gibbs, Matthew Stafford and Jaxson Smith-Njigba won't be topping any scoring lists.
Here, you'll find updated point-per-reception (PPR) rankings for all of this week's remaining plays. You'll also find a deeper dive into the marquee offensive positions.
Quarterback
1 of 5.jpg)
- Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
- Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
- Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
- Bo Nix, Denver Broncos
- Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts
- Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
- Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears
- Jaxson Dart, New York Giants
- Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers
- Joe Flacco, Cincinnati Bengals
- Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh Steelers
- Marcus Mariota, Washington Commanders
- Kirk Cousins, Atlanta Falcons
- Spencer Rattler, New Orleans Saints
While fans have become accustomed to true dual-threat quarterbacks like Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson leading the fantasy rankings, Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes is back on top in 2025.
Mahomes has done his fair share of scrambling this season (250 yards, 4 TDs), but he's also opened up the passing attack—especially with Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy back in the lineup. The 30-year-old leads all QBs with an average of 25 fantasy points per week, and he has a favorable matchup in Week 8.
The Washington Commanders have surrendered the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing QBs.
Jackson, by the way, was ruled out on Saturday. The Atlanta Falcons, meanwhile, are "highly likely" to start Kirk Cousins over Michael Penix Jr., according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Managers looking for a matchup-based play should consider Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams. He'll face a Baltimore Ravens defense that may be better out of the bye but has surrendered the second-most fantasy points to QBs.
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco looms as a potential waiver target, rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo and ESPN leagues. He'll face a middle-of-the-road New York Jets defense and gets to heave passes to Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
Flacco threw for 342 yards and three touchdowns in his last start.
Running Back
2 of 5.jpg)
- Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts
- Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers
- Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons
- Josh Jacobs, Green Bay Packers
- James Cook, Buffalo Bills
- De'Von Achane, Miami Dolphins
- Derrick Henry, Baltimore Ravens
- Javonte Williams, Dallas Cowboys
- Rachaad White, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Quinshon Judkins, Cleveland Browns
- Breece Hall, New York Jets
- Cam Skattebo, New York Giants
- D'Andre Swift, Chicago Bears
- J.K. Dobbins, Denver Broncos
- Chase Brown, Cincinnati Bengals
- Rico Dowdle, Carolina Panthers
- Jaylen Warren, Pittsburgh Steelers
- Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints
- Isiah Pacheco, Kansas City Chiefs
- Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Washington Commanders
The addition of quarterback Daniel Jones has done wonders for the Indianapolis Colts offense this season and it's helped running back Jonathan Taylor truly shine. He currently leads all running backs with an average of 22.3 fantasy points per game.
Taylor is, at this point, a weekly must-start, regardless of matchup. However, he has a reasonable matchup against the Tennessee Titans (13th-most fantasy points allowed), which could allow him to outperform other stars, like Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs.
Taylor racked up 118 scrimmage yards and three touchdowns the last time he faced Tennessee.
New York Jets running back Breece Hall hasn't been as consistent as backs like Taylor, Robinson and McCaffrey this season. However, he could potentially approach their level of production this week.
A lot will hinge on New York's game plan, but the Jets are visiting the Cincinnati Bengals, who have surrendered more fantasy points to opposing RBs than any other team.
The waiver-wire pool is pretty shallow at running back at this point in the week, but Kyle Monangai is worth a look. The Bears rookie is coming off a 94-yard, one-touchdown game and has a great matchup against Baltimore. The Ravens have surrendered the second-most fantasy points to opposing RBs.
Monangai is still the backup to D'Andre Swift, but he could see a large role if Chicago goes run-heavy. He's still available in over 60 percent of Yahoo and ESPN leagues.
Wide Receiver
3 of 5.jpg)
- Ja'Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals
- Rashee Rice, Kansas City Chiefs
- Drake London, Atlanta Falcons
- Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos
- CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys
- Emeka Egbuka, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- DK Metcalf, Pittsburgh Steelers
- Rome Odunze, Chicago Bears
- George Pickens, Dallas Cowboys
- DeVonta Smith, Philadelphia Eagles
- Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints
- Zay Flowers, Baltimore Ravens
- Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals
- Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers
- Xavier Worthy, Kansas City Chiefs
- Michael Pittman Jr., Indianapolis Colts
- Stefon Diggs, New England Patriots
- Romeo Doubs, Green Bay Packers
- Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins
- Rashid Shaheed, New Orleans Saints
- Alec Pierce, Indianapolis Colts
- Deebo Samuel, Washington Commanders
- Khalil Shakir, Buffalo Bills
- Matthew Golden, Green Bay Packers
- Wan'Dale Robinson, New York Giants
- Marvin Mims Jr., Denver Broncos
- Troy Franklin, Denver Broncos
- Jauan Jennings, San Francisco 49ers
- Darnell Mooney, Atlanta Falcons
- Kendrick Bourne, San Francisco 49ers
Ja'Marr Chase's fantasy stock took a bit of a hit when the Bengals were relying on backup quarterback Jake Browning. However, Chase has skyrocketed back to the top with Flacco behind center.
Flacco still has enough arm to stretch the field, and he has the good sense to pepper Chase with targets, even when he's well covered. A matchup with a solid Jets secondary (10th-fewest fantasy points surrendered to WRs) shouldn't be enough to shut down Chase this week—especially with Sauce Gardner (concussion) ruled out.
Gardner, who has allowed an opposing passer rating of 98.1 when targeted, has been more good than great this season anyway.
Denver Broncos receiver Courtland Sutton has a flat-out favorable matchup this week, as Denver will host the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys are potent enough offensively to prevent Denver from going into a run-heavy shell. They've also struggled to cover opposing receivers at an eye-opening rate.
Dallas has already surrendered over 1,800 passing yards and 16 passing touchdowns. Unsurprisingly, it has also surrendered more fantasy points to opposing receivers than any other team.
Despite having an above-average overall defense, the Colts have surrendered the second-most fantasy points to opposing receivers. This means that Titans receiver Chimere Dike has some real upside in Week 8.
Dike caught four passes for 70 yards and a touchdown last week and should remain a part of the game plan following Tyler Lockett's release. He's still available in over 90 percent of ESPN and Yahoo leagues.
Tight End
4 of 5.jpg)
- Tucker Kraft, Green Bay Packers
- Tyler Warren, Indianapolis Colts
- Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys
- George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers
- Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs
- Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles
- Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills
- Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons
- Dalton Schultz, Houston Texans
- Harold Fannin Jr., Cleveland Browns
- Mason Taylor, New York Jets
- Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens
- Hunter Henry, New England Patriots
- Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Theo Johnson, New York Giants
Jake Ferguson and Tyler Warren have been fantasy football's two most prolific tight ends this season, averaging 9.9 and 9.8 fantasy points per game, respectively. Both have become virtually matchup-proof and should reward managers again in Week 8.
Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft, however, isn't far behind Warren and Ferguson. He's averaged 9.5 fantasy points per game and has a great chance to be this week's top scorer.
The Packers have a Sunday night showdown with Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have surrendered the third-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends.
The Bengals have surrendered the most fantasy points to tight ends in 2025, which makes Jets rookie Mason Taylor a fine matchup-based option this week. The Packers have struggled to contain tight ends themselves and have allowed the second-most fantasy points to TEs.
This gives Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth a high Week 8 ceiling. While the Steelers use multiple tight ends, Freiermuth racked up five catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns last week. He's also rostered in only 12 percent of Yahoo leagues and seven percent of ESPN leagues.
